Posted: 5:49 am EDT July 2, 2009Updated: 6:45 am EDT July 2, 2009

Police believe a 14-year-old boy used a shotgun to shoot and kill a 12-year-old boy Wednesday night at a south Fulton County apartment.

East Point Police detective Cliff Chandler told Channel 2 Action News the incident happened at the Eagles Crest Apartments in the 3200 block of Spanish Trail in East Point.

The victim was shot in the chest. Police are trying to determine if the shooting was accidental.

There were several other teens in the apartment at the time of the shooting, according to police.

"We do have some individuals that we have been interviewing who were present at the time of the shooting. We're trying to determine their role in this at this point," Chandler told News/Talk 750 WSB radio.
