Mother Of 2 Notches Georgia Lottery Win

A Monroe mother of two is celebrating a lottery win. Patricia Morrell, 28, won a $777,777 top prize playing the Georgia Lottery instant game Super Lucky 7's.

"I didn't know what to do," she said after discovering her prize.

Morrell purchased her ticket at The Store, 544 Mount Vernon Road in Monroe. She scratched it at home.

"I was in disbelief," she said. "It's definitely been a lucky year for me."

The lucky lottery winner said she plans to purchase a new car.

Federal law forbids paying welfare benefits to immigrants -- even legal immigrants. But a government investigation found that states all over the country are ignoring an important part of that law.
