Police: Teen Burglarized Same Home 5 Times In 1 Month

Cherokee County officials said a 17-year-old boy broke in to a family’s home five times in one month. He has been arrested.

Police said Zane Rotruck, of Canton, entered the same house in the Woodmont subdivision on at least five different occasions over a month-long period. Police said Rotruck entered the home and took things while the residents were home.

The last incident, police said, occurred on June 10 shortly after midnight. One of the residents spotted Rotruck exiting the back of the home and called 911. The victim’s information led detectives to the teen, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office detectives said.

Rotruck was charged with public indecency earlier this month after he allegedly masturbated in front of a Woodmont jogger on two different occasions. He was out on bond for that charge when the June 10 burglary occurred.

Rotruck is currently in custody at the Cherokee Adult Detention Center with a $61,700 bond.
