Plane Lands On Cobb Parkway

Officials in Cobb County said a small plane has landed safely on Cobb Parkway.

The plane landed on the busy road just before 11:30 a.m.

Pilot Mike Davidson reported smoke in the cockpit as he was trying to land at McCollum Airport when he made the emergency landing.

The Sky Arrow 600 Sport plane landed on Cobb Parkway near Acworth Due West Road and Nance Road, then turned onto Loring Road.

The pilot even managed to pull into a parking space at a subdivision under construction.

The Sky Arrow 600 Sport is made by Giotto Air, Inc. and uses a 98 horsepower pusher engine placed behind the cockpit. It can carry two people.

The plane is registered to the Hansen Air Group which is based at McCollum Airport and sells Sky Arrow planes.
