Gwinnett County police said they put an end to an illegal gambling operation in Lilburn, thanks to a citizen complaint.

Authorities said they confiscated about $50,000 in cash, seven video gambling machines, 160 pirated music CDs, two handguns and about 100 baseball hats during a search warrant at the Shell gas station in the 900 block of Indian-Trail-Lilburn Road.

Mohammad Bedarul Hussain, 45, of Cumming; Md Abdul Kalam Azad, 54, of Decatur; and Francisco Nunez-Alvarez, 52, of Lilburn, were all arrested and transported to the Gwinnett County Detention Center. Police said Hussain and Azad later bonded out, but Alvarez remained at the detention center Friday.

Police said Hussain owns the Shell station and faces several charges, including keeping a place of gambling, possession of a gambling device, and reproduction of recorded material.

Authorities said Kalam was an employee and is charged with one count of commercial gambling, and Alvarez was a patron and is charged with one count of misdemeanor gambling.
