A Floyd County man is out of jail Tuesday after being charged with child cruelty after police said he tattooed his three-year-old son. Eugene Ashley, 24, is also charged with tattooing someone under the age of 18.

The tattoo was discovered by workers from the Department of Family and Childrens Services after someone complained about conditions at the Ashley home.

Ashley said he was drunk and doesn’t remember tattooing the letters “DB,” for Daddy’s Boy, on his son’s shoulder blade.

The boy’s mother said she wasn’t present for the tattooing.

Amy Ashley said she found out after the Easter weekend that her husband had tattooed the initials on their son.
