ATHENS -- The Athens-Clarke County 911 Center got 14 calls following the shooting deaths of three people in downtown Athens on Saturday afternoon. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution got copies of those call and this is a transcript of one of those calls:

Caller —- Yeah, I was there and he shot three people.

Caller —- Ah, where did he go? Did anybody see … he ran, um.

Caller —- Yeah, white guy. Anybody have a description? They need —- anybody see what he looked like?

911 —- OK, listen, listen to me. Tell them if they’re calling 911 they’ve got to hang up and just tell you what’s going on firstly. … And I need a description of the guy right now. White male, black male, Hispanic male, quickly.

Second caller —- Tall white male, uh, 50s, uh, goatee, beard, uh, was wearing, like blue, blue shorts, and, uh, like a T-shirt, got a …

911 —- Which way did he, which way did he go?

Second caller —- Uh, he headed towards Prince Avenue, heading, heading away from downtown.

911 —- OK.

Second caller —- He headed that way.

911 —- Are you talking to an officer?

Second caller —- Yes, sir.
