Pedestrian Hit By Car On Roswell Road

A pedestrian was hit by a car on Roswell Road just inside the perimeter Wednesday morning.

News Chopper 2 was over the scene and showed that police shut down all southbound lanes of Roswell Road at Long Island Drive.

Channel 2 Action News contacted Sandy Springs police Lt. Steve Rose who said the victim is a young female and her age is not known.

Police said they believe the young woman was struck by a SUV while she was standing in the turn lane on Roswell Road.

The driver of the SUV is being held pending the results of a preliminary investigation, police said.

The woman was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with head injuries. There is no word on her condition.
