A taxi passenger from Utah was killed Sunday morning in Atlanta after a wrong-way driver crashed head-on into the taxi on Interstate 75 southbound near Moores Mill Road.

Georgia State police said the victim, 46-year-old Stephen Mittuch, was a member of the U.S. Air Force and was in town for a conference.

Investigators said Tricia Truatt, 29, of Acworth, was driving a Ford Taurus in the wrong direction on the interstate. She was listed in stable condition at Grady Hospital Sunday.

The taxi driver, identified as Okafor Chukwuekwu, 37, of Marietta, was also listed in stable condition at Grady Hospital Sunday.

Authorities said charges were pending against Truatt because the investigation was still ongoing.
