“Our investigators spoke to plenty of teenagers that had been at the party,” said Officer Nathan McCreary with the Cobb County Police Department. “I don’t have specifics as far as how much alcohol or what type of alcohol, just that it was provided at the party.”Garrett Reed’s mother did not want to comment on Whitfield’s arrest. The Cobb County solicitor general would not talk about the specifics of Whitfield’s arrest. He said often, parents think they are helping kids when they serve alcohol in their homes.“The reasoning is that you know the kids are going to have alcohol anyway, so let’s do it in an environment where they’ll be safe. But you never know when kids are going to sneak out and something terrible or tragic is going to happen,” said Cobb solicitor general Barry Morgan.Whitfield is being held on $10,000 bond.
