Channel 2 Tours Michael Vick's Gwinnett Home

Michael Vick could get out of prison in six months but he won’t be returning to his home in Gwinnett County. Instead, he’ll be headed to a halfway house.

His eight bedroom estate in the Sugarloaf community will likely show up on the auction block in February. It is currently priced at $4.1 million.

It’s around 20,000 square feet of living space. “It’s really a fantastic home, well built as you saw, it has some great features,” said Lance Hampen with Funari Real Estate.

There are eight bedrooms, including a master suite where the NFL star slept. It also has eight full bathrooms and a library.

“What we like to refer to as the board room, it’s so grand. It’s two stories and solid cherry and it’s got a nice overlook from the second story,” said Hampen.

“The kitchen is really set up for entertaining, as the majority of the house is,” added Hampen.

One of the most striking features of the home is a grand double staircase that graces the entry, but it’s not the only way to get up and down. There’s also a three story elevator with a phone.

Down on the terrace level you can see carpet bearing the former Falcons quarterback’s famous number seven. There’s also a gym, pool parlor, a media room and three more bedrooms.

The back yard has a lake view. “To be here in Sugarloaf with an acre on the lake with a lot of privacy, it’s really a spectacular thing,” said Hampen.

The house has every imaginable amenity. The chandelier is hung on a retractable cable so with the push of a button it can be lowered for cleaning the crystals.

Real estate agents have shown the house more than 30 times. Funari Real Estate said two parties are very interested.

But in the current economy, unloading a multi-million dollar estate is not proving easy.

The price of the home has been reduced by $400,000 and is currently listed at $4.1 million. Furnishings are negotiable.

If approved by the bankruptcy court, the house goes on the auction block in mid-February. If you’re interested in bidding, be prepared to write a big check.
