Posted: 9:44 am EST December 10, 2008Updated: 10:10 am EST December 10, 2008

Donations are starting to come in to help a metro Atlanta marching band make the trip to Washington for President-elect Barack Obama's inauguration.

Primrose Schools donated $5,000 to South Cobb High School's Blue Eagle Marching Band on Tuesday.

Radio station Q-100 has launched a campaign to help the band get to D.C. The station has set up a Web page at www.q100atlanta.com that includes a direct link to ssl.4agoodcause.com where supporters can donate directly to the band.

The Blue Eagle Marching Band was selected to be the only band to represent Georgia in the 2009 Presidential Inaugural Parade. The School was selected from over 350 applications to represent Georgia. The anticipated cost for this trip is approximately $700 per student, which totals a $71,000 expense. This expense includes everything from transportation to thermal clothing to wear along the parade route.

Don't let this opportunity pass by for the students of South Cobb High School's Marching Band. Please make a donation quickly because South Cobb High School must officially accept the invitation by early next week. All donations must be sent no later than Friday, Dec. 12.
