Gwinnett Teen Threatens To Kill Over Cheating Girlfriend

A Gwinnett County student is learning a hard lesson after authorities said he threatened to kill another student over a girl.

Investigators said the Mill Creek High ninth-grader was upset that his girlfriend, an eighth-grader at Jones Middle School, allegedly cheated on him with another middle-schooler.

According to a report dated Oct. 2, the high-schooler threatened to get a gun and shoot the middle school boy.

Authorities said a gun was never found.

Authorities said they didn’t know if the student was serious, but because the threat was made, they had no choice but to arrest the student.

“It’s kind of wrong of him to think like that because there are many more girls out there, you know. You don't have to kill somebody over it, you know,” one person told Channel 2.

School officials said the ninth-grader was disciplined, but would not say how.

Authorities said the teen also faces misdemeanor charges.

The school system also said at no time was any other student in danger.
