Friday, October 10, 2008 – updated: 5:50 pm EDT October 10, 2008

A Mattie's Call has been canceled for an 81-year-old man who disappeared from his Lawrenceville home Friday morning.

Authorities said Philip Mootoo disappeared from the 700 block of Paden Drive in unincorporated Lawrenceville.

An officer was dispatched to 449 Creekview Drive in response to a homeowner arriving home from work and discovering an elderly male lying on the ground in his back yard. When the officer arrived, she quickly learned that the elderly male was 81-year-old Philip Mootoo who was reported missing earlier.

Investigators said the elderly man’s wife noticed him missing when she awoke at about 4 a.m.

Authorities said family members conducted a two-hour search before calling 911.
