Police: Man Running From Cops Hit, Killed On I-75

A man who was running from police on foot was hit and killed by two vehicles while trying to cross I-75 southbound, Henry County police said Tuesday.

The incident happened just before 10:30 a.m. Police said a man was stopped as part of a traffic stop on I-75 southbound near Exit 212 in Locust Grove.

  • During the course of a routine traffic stop the officer received information that the individual was wanted on other charges, said Capt. Jason Bolton with the Henry County Police Department.

    The man attempted to run away from the officer and ran across the interstate. The man was struck by two vehicles and killed.

    All southbound lanes of I-75 were closed at 10:45 a.m. All lanes were reopened just before 1:30 p.m.
