  • Police spokesman Marcus Hodge said an officer spotted a suspicious van.

Hodge said when the officer approached the vehicle, he observed a Hispanic male and female having sex.

The officer tapped on the window, Hodge said, and that is when the male driver hit the gas pedal, backed into the police cruiser, and fled onto Interstate 85.

Hodge said the vehicle later struck a utility pole and both people fled the area.
