ROSWELL, Ga. -- If you are looking for wholesome fun and seasonal color for the entire family, then get your costumes ready for the Chattahoochee Nature Center’s annual Halloween Hikes; October 17, 18 and 24 and 25 from 7:00 - 10:00 PM. Nature’s creatures in costumes dramatize this non-scary Halloween festival that will thrill and delight all ages. This family friendly event sponsored by UPS, in its 23rd year, gives kids and adults a chance to re-connect to nature while enjoying the unique excitement of the season as the leaves fall and the air becomes crisp. You’ll experience the mystery of a guided night hike just under a half mile through the lighted Nature Center trails where you’ll meet friendly forest creatures who will delight you with their dramatic antics. Join us for an evening full of fun activities! Parents love to return to this annual event at the Chattahoochee Nature Center every year with their youngsters. Some of them came here as children themselves and recall that this was one of the most exciting things they remembered from their own childhood! Experience the mystery of a guided night hike! Each group of 20 - 25 people will have a guide lead them safely on a lighted trail.
Meet nature-costumed characters including Kingfisher, Rabbit, Beaver, Water Drop, Howie Pollute, Firefly, Mother Earth, Lady Bug and Opossum plus everyone’s favorites, the Box Turtle and the Big Mouth Bass.
Gather around the campfire and meet new friends!
Play games and create fun crafts in our gym.
Have your face painted with a “wild” Halloween design.
Thrill to live musical entertainment.
Meet the funny Box Turtle, moving ever so slowly and looking exactly like the turtle should. Make a photo with our roaming characters. Children are encouraged to wear costumes. Have some coffee or hot chocolate and cookies from Harry’s Farmers Market and Whole Foods, or relax by the campfire while you enjoy the autumn evening. Live animal presentations will accent the experience of nature at night. Tickets are $7 for all ages, children two and under are free. Tickets go on sale at 6:30 pm and end at 9 pm.
