15-Year-Old Killed In Scooter Crash With Van

Cobb County police are investigating an accident in which a Walton High School student was killed in a scooter accident.

Aaron Cleveland, 15, from Marietta, died at the hospital after a truck hit him on Robinson Road and Clubland Way in Marietta.

"When he attempted to make that turn he was struck by a Comcast van who was traveling northbound on Robinson Road," said Cassie Reece with the Cobb County Police Department. "It's a tragic incident."

  • Cobb County police said Cleveland tried to turn left on Clubland Way in front of the truck when the crash happened late Thursday night.

    The 24-year-old truck driver was not injured.

    Paramedics rushed the teen to Kennestone Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

    "I just feel bad for his family," said one witness. "It's just so sad."

    "Considering that school was about to start, I'm sure there are going to be a lot of people hurt and grieving and our condolences go out to the friends and family of this young man," said Reece.

    Charges are not expected to be filed against the Comcast driver.
