Police: Man Shot Neighbor Cutting Grass, Kills Self

Thursday, August 7, 2008 – updated: 6:40 pm EDT August 7, 2008

Police swarmed a Loganville neighborhood after officials say a man was shot by his neighbor while he was mowing the lawn.

The incident happened on Vintage Oaks Drive in Loganville just before 1 p.m. Thursday.

Authorities on the scene told Channel 2's Rachel Kim a man was mowing his lawn when his neighbor drove up and shot him. Police have identified the alleged shooter as Charles Edwin Quinn.

SWAT Team members were called to the scene because police believed Quinn may have barricaded himself inside his house. A robot sent inside to make contact with Quinn discovered his body. Officers tell Kim he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
