Paulding County Woman Beaten, Robbed In Driveway

Victim Attacked By Four Men

Sunday, July 20, 2008 – updated: 7:01 pm EDT July 20, 2008

A Paulding County woman said she was beaten and robbed in her driveway Friday night by four men she believes followed her home.

The victim, who didn’t want to be identified, said the incident happened after 8 p.m. outside her home near Highway 92 and Cedar Crest Road in Dallas.

“I might have been knocked unconscious because I didn't realize I'd been hit more than once,” said the victim.

The victim said she had just returned home from running errands after work. She said she didn’t realize a car had apparently been following her until she pulled into her driveway.

“I pulled in the driveway and I was gathering everything…purse, makeup bag, all that ... to take inside the house, when the door was yanked open,” the victim said.

The victim said the men hit her and took her purse. The bruises are still visible on her face from the attack. The victim received four stitches on her lip. She said while the pain is subsiding, her emotions are not.

“I’m just angry, especially when it happens in your driveway. It’s hard to feel safe,” she said.

The victim said she wants to warn others because she believes criminals are following people into newer subdivisions like hers where they tend to feel safe.

“Take precautions. We've got surveillance cameras up. Next time, they definitely won't get away,” she said.

Paulding County sheriff’s deputies said they are looking for the men, last seen driving a dark-colored small passenger car Friday night.

The victim said until the perpetrators are caught, she wants people to be aware.
