Rapper Young Jeezy is facing charges of driving under the influence and speeding after he was pulled over on an Atlanta highway.

The rapper, whose real name is Jay Jenkins, was driving a Corvette and was stopped by an officer at about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday on Interstate 85, said Atlanta Police Department spokesman officer James Polite, who could not say how fast Jenkins was traveling.

Officials have charged Jenkins with having no tag and no decal, no proof of insurance, speeding, open container violation, reckless driving and driving impaired by alcohol or drugs.

Jenkins left Atlanta City Detention Center at 6:14 a.m. on $4,100 bond.

Scott E. Leemon, Jenkins' New York-based attorney, said in a news release that Jenkins was arrested after leaving a recording studio, where he is working on his new album, "The Recession."

"A court date has been scheduled and Jeezy looks forward to getting the matter resolved," the statement read.

Recently, Young Jeezy was featured on Usher's song "Love In This Club".

Jenkins was raised in Macon.
