Atlanta Police are investigating the accidental shooting death of an 11-year-old boy.

Authorities said two brothers -- 11-year-old Jeremy and 13-year-old Justin -- were playing with a rifle when it discharged and hit the younger boy in the upper chest. It happened Monday at a residence on Eisenhower Court.

"I was really, really shocked. I never expected anything like this to happen," said neighbor Derico Byrd.

Police said no charges were filed against the 13-year-old.

Jeremy died at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Officer James Polite, a spokesman, said the parents could face criminal charges. There were no adults in the house at the time of the shooting.
