A smash-and-grab burglary in Buckhead early Friday morning netted thieves more than $150,000 worth of high-end prescription glasses and sunglasses.

  • SLIDESHOW: Pearle Vision Break-In

  • The thieves smashed the glass on the front door of the Pearle Vision store at 3425 Lenox Rd. Once inside the crooks went right for the designer glasses, leaving behind the lower priced merchandise, according to police.

After a previous, similar break-in the owners of the store replaced smashed windows with shatter proof glass, but the thieves found a section of the older glass and broke it out with ease.

Without a security camera system at the store there is no surveillance video of the burglars in action.
