Atlanta Falcons Linebacker Arrested

Gwinnett County police said Atlanta Falcons linebacker Michael Boley was arrested over the weekend on a domestic violence battery charge.

Police said Chantelle Boley discovered her husband was cheating on her and when she confronted him, he grabbed her, pushed her against the living room wall and threw her onto a couch, bruising her back.

She also told police the 236 pound Boley picked her up, threw her out of their house and locked the door.

"Mr. Boley and his wife Mrs. Boley spoke with officers; they both stated they were in a verbal argument," said Cpl. Illana Spellman of the Gwinnett County Police. "He was determined to be the primary aggressor in this case."

Boley lives with his wife and two children. No children were directly involved in this incident.

Boley was released from jail aftering posting an $1,200 bond Saturday. He is barred from any contact with his wife.

The 2005 fifth round draft pick lives in Dacula and has been on the Falcons roster for three seasons.

Falcons officials said they are aware of the arrest, but declined to comment.

Domestic violence battery is a misdemeanor unless the offender has a second or subsequent conviction of a domestic violence battery against the same or another victim, then the charge becomes a felony.
