I-20 Reopens After Man Threatens Overpass Jump

ATLANTA -- A man threatening to jump from a bridge over I-20 in Atlanta shut down the busy interstate in both directions during the Friday morning rush hour.Police said the man climbed onto the bridge over I-20 at McDaniel Street just before 7 a.m. Police and DOT HERO units stopped traffic in both directions; traffic backed up for miles in both the east- and westbound lanes.Giant airbags were inflated and moved under the overpass to catch the person if they jumped.By 7:30 a.m. the person threatening to jump was in custody and all lanes of the interstate were reopened.
