DOT Board Reprimands Abraham For Behavior

Posted: 1:36 pm EDT April 21, 2008Updated: 6:20 pm EDT April 21, 2008

The DOT board voted Monday to reprimand Commissioner Gena Abraham, allowing her to keep her job.

The board voted 8-3 in favor of a written reprimand, citing Abraham for failing to report her relationship with former board chairman Mike Evans in a "timely fashion."

Evans handed in his resignation last week and revealed the relationship with Abraham. DOT policy forbids intimate relationships in the direct chain of command.

Board member Dana Lemon put forth a proposal to oust Abraham but the board never voted on it opting for the reprimand instead.

Acting Board Chairman William Kuhlke also confirmed that a sexual harassment complaint had been filed against acting Board Chairman Garland Pinholster.
