ATLANTA -- A Georgia Tech baseball player was found dead Friday in his apartment.

Officials confirmed the death of Michael Hutts, 21, a pitcher on the team.

The team's game against Miami Friday night was postponed until Saturday afternoon. The number 10 Yellow Jackets were set to take on the top-ranked Hurricanes at 7 p.m.

"His dad is flying back from Toronto; he was was on a business trip," Tech baseball coach Danny Hall told WSB-TV Channel 2 sports reporter Bill Hartman. "Your heart just goes out to him."

Atlanta police along with Georgia Tech campus police were still trying to determine a cause of death Friday afternoon. A Georgia Tech athletic department spokesman said foul play is not suspected.

"The tragic news of Michael Hutts' sudden passing can not be justified in words," said Tech athletic director Dan Radakovich in a statement posted on the team's web site. "Michael was an outstanding student-athlete, but more importantly an outstanding young man who had a deep impact on his teammates, coaches, classmates and the entire community. Our deepest heartfelt condolences go out to his parents, Mark and Vicky Hutts, and the entire Hutts family. Head baseball coach Danny Hall and his staff will work closely with our players during this very difficult time. It is important that we offer these young men all the support that they need. "

Hutts, a left handed pitcher from Dunwoody, was a dean's list student majoring in management. He was considered the top long relief pitcher for the Yellow Jackets. He graduated from the Wesleyan School in Norcross in 2005 where he holds the school records for career wins and strikeouts. He also lettered in basketball and cross country.
