'Most Wanted' Fugitive Arrested In Metro Atlanta

DECATUR, Ga. -- A fugitive featured on "America's Most Wanted" was arrested Wednesday in metro Atlanta.The U.S. Marshals Service, acting on a tip, arrested Kevin Armstead while he was detailing a vehicle at a car wash on Covington Highway in Decatur.Armstead was wanted by the Baltimore police for first degree murder. He is accused of shooting and killing a handy man and community figure during an argument over drug sales.The victim, Ricardo Paige, was a handyman who renovated run-down row houses in a Baltimore neighborhood. During some of these renovations, Paige would locate drugs and paraphernalia and dispose of them. Police believe he trashed drugs that Armstead and his associates had stashed in one of the row houses.Armstead and two of his associates are accused of kicking down the door of a house where Paige was working last year. After Paige tried to run and begged for his life, Armstead reportedly shot Paige to death.Armstead has a violent criminal history that includes gun charges, drug dealing and sex offenses. He is also a registered sex offender after being convicted of sex crimes involving a child. Armstead had additional outstanding warrants in Baltimore for drug charges and for failing to register as a sex offender in Maryland.He is being held in the DeKalb County jail until he is returned to Baltimore.
