After a 15-mile police chase and a crash, the 4-year-old Hall County girl who was abducted by her father, an accused child molester, was found in Tennessee Thursday.

Police found Madison Kerr with her father, Jerry John Norman Jones, near Nashville. Jones was taken to a hospital after the police chase ended in a crash. Authorities said the little girl is OK.

  • James Ergas from the U.S. Marshalls service told WSB-TV Channel 2 they were tipped off that Jones was at a Ramada Inn in Franklin, Tennessee.

When they arrived at the hotel they spotted Jones and Madison in his car. When they tried to arrest him Jones fought back. Even though the Marshalls used pepper spray on him, he managed to pull away, driving through a cemetery. He led police on a chase that ended when he crashed in Smyrna, Tennessee. Madison was in the backseat of the car during the chase.

Jones disappeared with his daughter during a supervised visit last week.

The former elementary school teacher was out on bond on charges he molested four students at Gainesville Elementary School.

On Thursday night Madison's mother, Rene Kerr, told WSB-TV Channel 2 reporter Manual Bojorquez she was worried about Madison's safety.

"I just want her to be safe, he can't keep a child safe when you're running," she said.
