  • The house had been off-limits ever since police raided the property in April and unearthed Vick’s dogfighting ring. But the new owners allowed Channel 2 Action News reporter Scott MacFarlane an exclusive tour Friday.

The house is located in 1915 Moonlight Road in Smithfield, Virginia. It is where Vick and his cohorts fought, executed and then buried dogs. It’s for sale now, and it has been cleaned up, but inside there were still haunting reminders of what happened there.

Inside, there are 4,600 square feet -- all of them top-shelf. There is a fireplace in the master bath, granite countertops in the kitchen and a regulation basketball court near the porch. It’s just what you would expect for an NFL star’s home.

But out back, simply put, it isn’t what anyone would expect. There are eerie remains of a dogfighting ring. And a mass dog graveyard. There is a long row of dog kennels. A black shed with a “No trespassing” sign and still more cages inside. There is a metal pole, where dogs were chained and attached to weights. There are burial sites near another black shed in which the fights were staged. They even installed an underground septic system for the dogs.

It’s an elaborate, expensive complex for the dogs hidden amid 15 acres of woods.

Kyle Hause is a member of the Owners Group who bought the property from Vick for $450,000. They will auction it off to the public next week. The flyers even advertise the home as Michael Vick’s old house.

“This is the most famous address in America, and yeah, because Vick owned it, it’s going to draw customers,” said Hause.

The sale is expected to generate $1 million. The auction for the property is scheduled for Saturday, December 15. That’s five days after Vick is sentenced on the federal dogfighting charges.
