Teen Brothers Killed In Car Accident

A Union City family is grieving after two brothers were killed in a violent car crash.

Jeremiah and Ahmaad Ross were passengers in a car that police say was speeding and lost control along Camp Creek Parkway early Sunday morning.

The teenage driver survived the crash.

"It's hard, it's hard. But I know God doesn't make any mistakes and he's got a plan," said mother, Stacy Ross.

Ross and her family said they are trying to be strong but admit that it's more than difficult.

Ross' two sons, 16-year-old Jeremiah -- a popular football player -- and 15-year-old Ahmaad -- the creative planner -- were both killed in a car accident early Sunday morning.

"They were both very creative, very outgoing young men and they had a great future in front of them," said the boys' uncle, Markus Jones.

Police said the boys' were just passengers in a car driven by 17-year-old Jarvis Shields, when Shields lost control while speeding around another car.

Shields survived but the Ross brothers did not. Now their mother wants to warn other parents and their children about the dangers of young drivers.

"There's just too much going on and everyday you look at the news and that's what you're seeing -- a child is being killed," said Ross.

"That particular night, the teen made a wrong decision, which cost the lives of two young men, and it's also tragic for him and his family," said Jones.

Police said they expect to charge Shields with two counts of vehicular homicide.
