Police Suspect Dogs Buried On Vick's Former Property

Virginia investigators said they now suspect there are 30 dogs buried on Falcons Quarterback Michael Vick’s former Surry County, Va., property. They also said that seven pit bulls were killed and buried in shallow graves just days before the first police raid in April.

Nobody is digging up Vick’s former back yard right now.

In addition to the 60 dogs police seized at the Virginia home last month, animal control officials said about 30 more dogs might have been killed and buried there.

According to a search warrant obtained late Monday afternoon by Channel 2 Action News, Virginia animal control investigators now suspect not every pit bull made it out of the home alive.

The state investigators want to search for animal remains. They also said they wanted to scour the floorboards and walls of the black sheds in the back yard to look for spattered blood.

But so far, prosecutor Gerald Poindexter has denied them access to the property.

Late Tuesday, Channel 2’s Scott MacFarlane asked him why. He responded by saying he didn’t like the way the search warrant was written and did not like Channel 2's questions.

"We had not been consulted. We didn't like the language of the affidavit. Please, why don't you just give us a break and leave? Really this is ridiculous,” said Poindexter.
