Others died in the crates and runs where they were being held on the clinic's main level.

It took fire crews about an hour to bring the flames under control.

Firefighters were able to rescue seven large dogs from a kennel located in the basement of the building.

Firefighters provided oxygen to four large dogs using special canine oxygen masks. A total of seven large dogs were transported to a nearby animal hospital for treatment and temporary boarding.

Officials said it appears the fire started in the clinic office
