Wreck Cuts Car In Two; Shuts Down 316

A collision involving a truck and a car left the smaller vehicle sliced in two and shut down Highway 316 in Barrow County.

One person involved in the wreck was killed.

The crash left the two sections of the car about 30 feet apart. The driver of the car survived the crash, but a passenger was killed.

The truck driver was trapped in the cab of his rig and crews had to cut him free.

The truck involved crashed into a stand of trees alongside the highway and rolled over onto its side.

All lanes of 316 at were shutdown just after 10:40 a.m.

Federal law forbids paying welfare benefits to immigrants -- even legal immigrants. But a government investigation found that states all over the country are ignoring an important part of that law.
