Harry And David Chocolates Recalled

Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tommy Irvin alerted consumers Tuesday to a nationwide recall of a popular chocolate candy that may contain undeclared peanuts and cashews.

The voluntary recall of all Harry and David Dark Chocolate Clusters The Ultimate Walnut Cherry Caramel Indulgence is being issued nationally by Harry & David Operations Corp., Medford, Oregon. The recall was prompted because the product has the potential of containing peanuts and cashews not listed on the label.

The candy is packed in boxes that have a "Best Before" date of 071123 which is printed in black ink and located below the Nutrition Facts panel on the back of the box. The product is wrapped in 6 oz. green and cream striped paperboard boxes with a folded top. The nationwide distribution of the candy, since March 15, has been primarily at Harry and David Stores.

"Consumers who have purchased this product should return it to place of purchase for a full refund," Irvin says. Consumers with questions may call the 24-hour product recall Customer Service division, 800-345-5655.
