Shooting At Church Leaves One Dead

Monday, January 22, 2007

Police are searching for a gunman who shot and killed a man outside a Gwinnett County church.

St. Patrick's Catholic Church at 2140 Beaver Ruin Road was packed for 5:00 o'clock Mass on Sunday night when churchgoers heard gunfire.

A priest investigated and found the body of a man in one of the church parking lots.

Police are still trying to identify the victim.

"We don't know if it's a parishioner or it just happened here," said Cpl. Darren Moloney, spokesman for Gwinnett County Police.

No one inside the church was injured.
