Robbers Crash Through Drug Store

Thursday, December 7, 2006 – updated: 2:22 pm EST December 7, 2006

A local drug store is cleaning up a big mess after thieves smashed their way in – and took off with the ATM.

The incident happened at a Walgreens on Buford Drive in Lawrenceville.

Gwinnett Police say when they got to the Walgreens early Thursday morning they found some industrial earth-moving equipment which was used to take the ATM.

The equipment tore down a big portion of the front door area – which is where the ATM was located.

The thieves were able to take the machine out of the box – no word on how much cash was inside.

Gwinnett Crime Scene investigators collected evidence on the scene Thursday morning and they hope surveillance video will help them locate the suspects.
