Alabama Teen Confesses To Raping Mother

Posted: 9:54 am EDT October 27, 2006

A shocking crime in Marshall County led to the arrest of a teenager who is charged with raping his mother.

Albertville police say 19-year-old Gary Helms Junior is charged with first-degree rape. Police allege that he sought revenge against his brother after the two argued over a girlfriend and apparently targeted his 45-year-old mother.

Police Sgt. James Smith said the victim was sexually assaulted last weekend in her mobile home. Helms, according to Smith, confessed to the attack. He was ordered held in the Marshall County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
