Posted: 9:54 am EDT October 6, 2006Updated: 10:20 am EDT October 7, 2006

A fourth person has died following a small plane crash in Henry County.

The night administrator at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta says 65-year-old Bruce Byrne died from his injuries early Saturday morning.

He was one of four people in a single engine Cessna that crashed yesterday near Berry Hill Airport in Stockbridge.

The pilot Durwood Smith and his wife, Patricia, were also killed along with Bryne's wife, Linda.

Smith's mother-in-law, Elsie Crocker, said the couples were headed to Saint Simons Island.

Crocker said the Smiths had been married for a little more than two years and were both active at their church - - where Durwood Smith was a Sunday school teacher.

She said he had three children from a previous marriage.

Patricia Smith had a daughter who was killed by a drunk driver years ago.

Authorities say their plane struck some power lines shortly after take-off.
