Clark Tests The Wash And Wear Suit

Posted: 3:05 pm EDT June 5, 2006Updated: 6:29 pm EDT June 5, 2006

We put the Wash and Wear suit to the test.

“I wanted to ask one of Atlanta’s premiere tailors what he thought the quality of the quality of the Wash and Wear suit,” says Clark.

Mario Bosco knows a good suit when he sees one. He was not initially impressed by the quality of the wool, but thought Clark had found a bargain.

Clark told him he bought the suit for $149 and asked Mario if he thought he’d paid too much.

“Definitely not,” said Mario.

“Mario’s completely skeptical of this suit doing well in the washing machine,” Clark says. “I, on the other hand, completely buy into it, otherwise I wouldn’t have spent $149.99 buying it!”

The care instructions on the Stafford suit call for the gentle cycle. Once Clark figured out the washer controls, the rest was easy!

The moment of truth part one – how does it look coming out of the dryer?

Clark’s photographer and producer gave the suit a thumbs up, and Clark agreed.

“Oh my goodness, it seems perfect. Didn’t shrink at all,” Clark says.

But would the suit impress our expert? As promised, we took it back to Mario Bosco.

“My congratulations for Clark. It is amazing,” he said.

That’s right – Mario admits he’s shocked at how good the suit looks after washing and drying.

“This suit is worth the money – for the price he paid – no question about it,” Mario says.

And when you consider most suits need cleaning every three to four wearings, at $8 a pop, the savings can really add up. Mario did think Clark’s suit needed a little pressing, and after his touch, it really looked great.

Clark says even the skeptics have to agree that this time, Clark’s love of a bargain paid off and will keep paying off for years to come.

Clark bought his suit – on sale – at JC Penney. They are quite popular in Europe at much higher prices.
