STICKER SHOCK! Heating Bills Cause Gas Pains

Posted: 6:30 am EST January 13, 2006Updated: 5:45 pm EST January 13, 2006

Opening this month's heating bill can be dangerous.

Some homeowners are reporting a 300 percent jump in their monthly natural gas bills.

The state Public Service Commission say they are swamped with complaints.

November and December were colder than previous years, with the price of natural gas much higher. The combination is creating sky high bills.

PSC officials say customers who can't pay their bills should call their gas marketers who are required by law to work out a payment plan.
