Kroger Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips Recalled

ATLANTA -- Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tommy Irvin alerts consumers to the recall of some Kroger chocolate chips that may have a milk ingredient not listed on the label.Kroger Value Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips, sold at Kroger stores in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia, are being recalled because they may contain a milk protein not listed as an ingredient on its label.People who have an allergy to milk run the risk of having an allergic reaction if they consume the product.The chips, produced by Barry Callebaut, USA LLC, are sold in 12-ounce packages as "Kroger Value Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips.” It has the UPC Code 11110–86603 and “sell by” date May 30, 2010. The “sell by” date is found in black ink on the back end of the bag.Consumers who have purchased the product may return it to place of purchase for a full refund.
