Tropical Storm Hanna Postpones Mets/Phils

Saturday, September 6, 2008

(Sports Network) - Saturday's game between the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Mets has been postponed due to rain as Tropical Storm Hanna makes its way up the East Coast.

The game will be made up as part of a day/night doubleheader on Sunday. The first game will start at 2:15 p.m. (et), and the nightcap will start at the originally scheduled 8:05 p.m. (et).

The Phillies defeated the Mets 3-0 on Friday to pull within two games of New York for first place in the NL East. Left-hander Jamie Moyer of the Phillies was supposed to face New York's Pedro Martinez on Saturday, while Sunday's nightcap is slated to be a matchup of lefty aces, with Philadelphia's Cole Hamels facing the Mets' Johan Santana.
