Miami, FL -- (Sports Network) - Chuck James threw well into the seventh inning and had two hits, including an RBI double, as Atlanta powered to a 12-3 victory over Florida in the opener of a three-game series.Chipper Jones knocked in four runs and Jeff Francoeur went 4-for-5 with an RBI and scored three times for the Braves, who have won four consecutive games on the heels of a season-high five-game skid. "We faced a ton of stud pitching last week (so) we've bounced back nicely," Jones said. "No need to get overly excited about it. It's nice today (but) tomorrow is a new day and we can just as easily come out and get shut out." James (7-7) allowed four hits and a run before being replaced after 6 2/3 innings. The Braves, who were limited to one run in a five-game span from June 19-24, have scored 35 times during their current winning streak. "The run support is amazing," James said. "That helped me out a lot. I was kind of in a groove, then I felt it slipping a little bit, but once you get that kind of run support it makes it a lot easier and takes the stress off." Josh Johnson (0-3) was lifted after giving up five hits and two runs with five walks and six strikeouts in four innings for the Marlins. Wes Obermueller then struggled on the mound as he was pounded for seven hits and six runs in 1 1/3 frames. Mike Jacobs homered and Hanley Ramirez had two hits and a pair of RBI for the Marlins, who lost for the fifth time in six games. Both teams missed opportunities to score over the first two innings. Atlanta left a total of five men on base in that span, while the Marlins stranded a runner at third in the first. Atlanta then jumped on top in the third. Jones walked, Andruw Jones singled, and runners were at second and third after Brian McCann grounded out. Francoeur then lifted a sacrifice fly to center field, and Kelly Johnson singled to left to make it 2-0. The Braves batted around in the fifth, expanding their lead to 6-0. Francoeur and Johnson singled off Obermueller with one out. Scott Thorman then doubled to right to drive in two runs. James followed with a double to right field to drive in Thorman. Two batters later, Chipper Jones singled up the middle to give Atlanta a six-run cushion. A Dan Uggla error led to Francoeur scoring in the sixth, and pinch-hitter Matt Diaz had a sacrifice fly in the same inning. Florida finally scored in its half of the sixth on Jacobs' fifth homer of the year, a blast to right field. The Braves scored four more in the eighth, highlighted by a Chipper Jones three-run triple down the right-field line. Diaz had a sacrifice fly in the inning. The Marlins used utilityman James Wood to pitch the ninth inning, and Ramirez stroked a two-run double in the bottom of the ninth off Wilfredo Ledezma.
