Liz Artz

Liz Artz joined Channel 2 Action News in October of 2012 as a freelance reporter and joined the staff full time in August of 2013.

An Emmy award-winning reporter, she is  native of Littleton, Colorado, and has lived in the Southeast throughout her television news career and considers it home.

Before coming to Atlanta, Liz worked as an anchor and reporter at WSB-TV’s sister station in Orlando, Fla., WFTV. While there she covered stories that made national headlines including a NASCAR plane crash that killed 5 people, the Casey Anthony Case and broke the arrest of a local county commissioner on bribery charges.

Liz started her career in Panama City, Fla. where she was a “One Man Band.” She quickly moved to Montgomery, Ala. where she was the main anchor for the local ABC Affiliate and also spent 5 years in Birmingham, Ala. at the NBC Affiliate where she was an anchor and reporter.

While in Birmingham, Liz covered dozens of national stories that included the arrest of Eric Robert Rudolph, the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster and the D.C. Area Snipers.

Liz has received numerous Associated Press Awards for best News Cast as an anchor.

Liz received her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Colorado Boulder, with an emphasis in International Affairs.

After moving to Alabama, Liz became an Auburn Fan and will always be a lifelong Denver Bronco Fan.

In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and cheering on her favorite sports teams and watching SEC Football games.
