Why David Lynch says Trump could go down as 'one of the greatest presidents in history'

Director David Lynch says he's not a political guy and may have voted Libertarian in the last presidential election (he doesn't remember), but in a recent interview with The Guardian he said something positive about President Donald Trump.

At a time when many celebrities rail against the policies of Trump's administration, the "Twin Peaks" director told the British newspaper Trump "could go down as one of the greatest presidents in history because he has disrupted the thing so much. No one is able to counter this guy in an intelligent way."

Lynch's comment didn't exactly show that he was a Trump supporter, but that he thought the president shone a light on the inefficiency of government.

“Our so-called leaders can’t take the country forward, can’t get anything done. Like children, they are. Trump has shown all this,” he said.

Lynch, who is notoriously cryptic in interviews, talked to The Guardian to promote his new book, "Room to Dream." Here's the full interview, which touches on how Lynch has become a happier person and why he doesn't like to explain his projects for audiences.
