George Clooney walks unassisted days after scooter crash and hospitalization

Less than a week after a scooter crash landed George Clooney in an Italian hospital, the actor is back on his feet.

The 57-year-old actor was photographed walking unassisted on Sunday, across the tarmac after his plane arrived in Rome, according to photos obtained by Entertainment Tonight and TMZ.

Clooney was released from a hospital in Olbia on the Italian island of Sardinia after a Mercedes cut across his path and caused a collision. Surveillance video of the incident shows what is reported to be Clooney's scooter crashing into the car, and a figure that appears to be Clooney is thrown over the front of his bike and into the air before landing on the street, after which the car driver and other witnesses come to his assistance.

At the hospital, Clooney's injuries were not serious and he was discharged.

“George was treated and released from an Olbia hospital," his representative Stan Rosenfield told USA TODAY last week. "He is recovering at home and will be fine.”

Clooney is currently in Italy filming a "Catch-22" miniseries that will run on Hulu, based on Joseph Heller's 1961 novel that was also made into a 1970 film.

USA TODAY has contacted Clooney's representatives for comment.
