ATLANTA -- Fall is coming, and it is the best time of year to experience an outdoor adventure at the Chattahoochee Nature Center!Below is a listing of fun and engaging activities planned for the months of September and October.In addition, the Chattahoochee Nature is home to more than two miles of woodland and river boardwalk trails, each with unique sights and sounds. There are numerous resting spots along the trails that allow hikers to take a break and enjoy the seclusion.As always, thank you for your continued support. Our new Discovery Center and Pavilion are well underway, and scheduled for a grand opening in the summer of 2009!
Animal Encounter

This program, for home schooled students 10-15 years old, allows the student to gain important hands-on learning experiences as an interpretive naturalist at the CNC. Focusing their study on one of the nature centers non-releasable wildlife; students will be researching their animal species and learning interpretive techniques on how to share information with others in a fun and engaging way. Each Jr. Naturalist will interpret at their chosen exhibit, sharing their newly gained knowledge and skills with other children and adults visiting the nature center. This program will meet once a week for six weeks starting in September. Cost is $60 per student. Our annual fundraiser is a non-scary adventure for children of all ages. Take your child on a well-lit hike through the forest to meet woodland creatures, and hear about their lives. It’s the perfect non-scary alternative to traditional Halloween events. An evening full of fun activities includes arts and crafts, games, face painting, musical entertainment and a traditional bonfire! This program, for home schooled students 10-15 years old, allows the student to gain important hands-on learning experiences as an interpretive naturalist at the CNC. Focusing their study on one of the nature centers non-releasable wildlife; students will be researching their animal species and learning interpretive techniques on how to share information with others in a fun and engaging way. Each Jr. Naturalist will interpret at their chosen exhibit, sharing their newly gained knowledge and skills with other children and adults visiting the nature center. This program will meet once a week for six weeks starting in September. Cost is $60 per student.
