  • Our Trip started in Calgary, where the name of many oil giants, like Shell & Husky dot the skyline.
  • On the plane with the folks from Cenovus energy headed to their facility in Northern Alberta.
  • There would be miles and miles and miles of nothing but wilderness, then an oil facility would pop up.
  • At Cenovus Energy’s Christina Lake facility. Jim with VP of the facility Alan Reid in front of the pipeline where they pump all their finished product out.
  • About 55,000-60,000 barrels of oil go through this pipe into storage tanks every day.

  • Suncor at Fort McMurry, Alberta
  • The trucks used at Suncor are the largest in the world. They are as large as a two story house and can carry 400 tons.
  • For each ton you get about .7 of a barrel, so each load equals about 280 barrels of oil.
