  • Fright Fest returns to Six Flags Over Georgia for another season of frights, freak shows and flat-out disgusting competitions.
  • The annual event is the amusement park's take on Halloween. There are new shows, new rides, Halloween decorations and creepy creatures wandering the park.
  • Shows for Fright Fest 2012 include Baron Von Vile's Call to his Minions, Dr. Fright's Dead Man's Party, Grouchy Griswold the Insult Comic and Captain & Maybelle.

  • Nelson's News on wsbtv.com checked out the Captain & Maybelle show this year. The duo was featured on America's Got Talent, and now the pair perform a freak show for all those in attendance at Fright Fest.
  • For those seeking a more interactive adventure, there's a Madagascar cockroach eating contest each Saturday night after the Captain & Maybelle show. Three contestants are each given a roach. The first person to eat and swallow it completely wins a season pass to Six Flags.
  • There are several fearful frights for an additional cost, including Dr. Fright's Frightorium - it's a haunted house. There's the Terror Train, which is the same Six Flags train everyone has ridden, but it's upgraded with some haunting experiences. There's the Last Ride, too.
  • Six Flags Over Georgia is open Saturdays and Sundays in October. It's also open Friday, Oct. 26. The park is family friendly during the day. The freaks come out at night.
